Panic As Pregnant Woman died of COVID-19

A pregnant woman has died at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, of coronavirus.

Report has it that the woman visited the obstetrics and gynaecology unit of the hospital before the ugly situation occurred

KOBOGIST gathered that she was tested of COVID-19 but she passed on before her result which came out positive.

KoboGist learnt that, she was tested along other two persons - male and female. However, their result was positive for the male and negative for the female suspect.


KoboGist learnt that the male was taken to Isolation center while the corpse was deposited in a morgue.

The incident created panic in the hospital as the fate of four health worker who got contact with the late patient haven't been determined

However, when contacted, the Hospital PRO, Segun Orisajo, responded that he could not confirm the incident, but further added that the management of the hospital would be meeting on Sunday to make official response on the development.

The PRO said “I am not in the position presently to confirm or otherwise of your request. Kindly hold on till tomorrow when the management will make known its official response after due observance of laid down protocols on such a matter.”

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, said he haven't received official information from the hospital clinical team, but he however confirmed the ugly situation
